Image
Hey Y'all! Our apologies, however we're taking a hiatus from blogging. We'll be back blogging in November. We will still be posting on other platforms during this break so be sure to check in with us there: https://linktr.ee/outlandadventures We're going to be out and about too often to blog consistently the rest of this month, but we should be posting more elsewhere. Thanks for understanding! The Outlands

Friday the 13th!

Image
Hey Y'all! I searched, and searched for events happening near(ish) us this Friday the 13th, and didn't really find much that was the amount of spooky we'd like. So our plans? Meet up for a few online sales, dinner at Mom's and then... no idea! Thanks, The Outlands

Gadgets We Love, Top 3 for Daily Life

Image
Hey Y'all! This one is gadget #vanlife specific, but the items from that top 5 blog are definitely some great products we love too! TOP 3! 1) Collapsible Tub : We picked ours up at Aldi! Such a great find. At the time we purchased locally it was just under $10 USD. We use it for doing dishes, or washing fruits/veggies, or anything else you'd use a sink for. 2) Folding Table/Tray : We found two of these, sitting in the floor of the furniture aisle of our local Walmart & knew we should grab them up for under $20 USD each. We have used them for working on the laptop, coloring/art, eating, outdoors to hold the radio or phones & drinks. Such a useful purchase! 3) Lights! We actually had these before the van (pretty sure ours were from Ollie's  several years ago), for emergencies since our power would go out so often. They worked great for that, and they're very useful in the van too. They're bright without being blinding, and last forever. We also like that we...

Our Van Layout- Plans, Prep, & Pack

Image
Hey Y'all! Our ideas for the van are laid out in this video: In the over cab storage we'll have electronics- like games, movies, and the systems to run them.  Between the seats will be our fridge, and water storage. The storage drawers are explained in the video, and we're getting there as far as packing those. Our clothes and shoes will fit in the front under bed section, as well as the Blackstone grill, and it's accessories. Over the bed, we're not sure what we're putting up there as of yet other than a couple extra blankets. It's a nice big section, so there are lots of possibilities. Behind the bed, in what is commonly referred to as the garage, we'll keep the tool box, camp chairs, and canopy, as well as our electricity source*. *We've yet to purchase this but are thinking portable power station via solar will fit our needs. Questions? Suggestions? Share them in the comments below! Thanks, The Outlands

Pack With Us: Kitchen (Part 1 of 2)

Image
Hey Y'all! We're saving the kitchen packing for last, and keep procrastinating doing the packing we can.  Obviously we can't pack up food, or all the cookware yet since were still using it, but we can pack up the cookbooks we want to keep, and the glass dishes, and Tupperware, etc... Here's what the kitchen looked like before we got started: Full transparency-It's not much different now, definitely a bigger mess though.  Thanks, The Outlands
