RV Life Isn’t Always Glamorous

Image
πŸ›ž RV Life Isn’t Always Glamorous: The Hard Truth from the Road Hey y’all — it’s Amanda & Chris from Outland Adventures . We love the RV lifestyle. We really do. The freedom. The weird towns. The starry skies. The cornbread from strangers. But here’s the truth no Instagram filter can fix: RV life is also hard. And weird. And sometimes really gross. So today, instead of showing you another peaceful campsite or slow morning coffee, we’re talking about the parts of full-time travel that don’t make the highlight reel — because being real is part of the adventure too. 😩 1. Things Break. Constantly. Wildebeest is a tough old gal — a 1990 E350 shuttle bus that’s seen a lot of action. But still, something’s always rattling, cracking, leaking, or randomly falling off the wall. Just in the past few months: We've had noises for no reason. Our door was flapping in the wind at 50MPH. A propane regulator hissed at us like an angry raccoon. Our “new” fan quit mid-hea...

Behind the Scroll: The Real Life of Social Media on the Road

πŸ“±Behind the Scroll: The Real Life of Social Media on the Road Hey friends! It’s Amanda (with some Chris input, of course), here to pull back the curtain on a side of Outland Adventures we don’t always show: the behind-the-scenes of our social media life . You’ve seen the reels. The campground sunsets. The aesthetic coffee setups. The goofy RV fails and the quiet morning views. But what you don’t always see is… well, the chaos it takes to get those clips. Creating content while living full-time in a 1990 shuttle bus isn’t just fun — it’s also hilarious , exhausting , and 100% real . So here it is: the truth behind the scroll. πŸŽ₯ We Don’t Wake Up With a Camera in Our Face Despite what perfectly-lit morning reels would have you believe, we don’t wake up and immediately grab a camera. Most mornings start with: Chris stumbling toward the coffee like a sleep-deprived raccoon. Amanda checking messages with one eye open. A 10-minute debate about whether breakfast count...

Welcome To Outland Adventures (More About Us)

Image
πŸŒ„ Welcome to Outland Adventures: Life on the Road with Chris, Amanda, and Wildebeest Hey there, fellow travelers, dreamers, and DIY lovers!  We’re Chris and Amanda, the duo behind Outland Adventures — a rolling lifestyle of creativity, curiosity, and a whole lot of campfire coffee. We’ve traded traditional living for the open road, traveling full-time in our one-of-a-kind rig: Wildebeest , a 1990 Ford E350 Shuttle Bus conversion. Once a mobile command unit for county EMS, she’s now a quirky, dependable home packed with personality (and a couple of propane stoves that keep us well-fed and caffeinated). 🚐 Meet Wildebeest Before joining our crew, Wildebeest helped save lives — serving as a county EMS mobile command unit. Today, she’s on a new mission: helping us explore backroads, small towns, and the weirdest roadside attractions we can find. We converted her into a fully functional tiny home with everything we need (and nothing we don’t). No black tanks to worry about, just smart...

Our Recent Brand Collaborations!

Image
Hey Y'all! Brand collaborations really make us feel like we're doing something right... like we've "made" it on social media .   That said we vow to only take sponsors/collabs that:  1) Make sense for us (and you). For example we recently got an offer for a milk frother, but we don't drink our coffee that way, so it didn't make sense for us. We also have limited room, so we can't say yes to just anything. 2) Are a product we have used/will use regularly. All the items we'll mention today we are currently using. We like all of them! 3) We can be honest about. Integrity above all else. We will let you know if something doesn't work, isn't as great as other products in the category, or isn't as expected in general. In no particular order: 1) Viking Bags- https://www.vikingbags.com/ collections/motorcycle- backpacks   We're working on getting a promo code for y'all! We were sent the bag to test out, in exchange for mentioning it in...

Outland Adventures Social Media Growth & Analytics

Image
Hey Y'all! When we started out this year we had a few social media goals, which I'll share below. First though it's amazing to us how the growth happened on each platform. The blogs maintain the same, nothing huge but they do okay. Facebook was a slow steady climb each week, and we now sit at just under 1100! We've met a lot of really cool people on FB. TikTok hovered at about 40 followers for months! Then all of a sudden we got up to 100, then 500, and now it's at about the same level as our Facebook! All that growth happened in about a month or so! There are so many amazing travel/RV creators out there. Twitter or X, we don't really mess with other than to post that the blog is up. We don't really follow anyone there, and no one really follows us. I did take a break from posting the blog links and views went down, even though no one interacts on twitter. So, I returned to posting.  Instagram, I feel like we gave it a good shot, but we didn't grow at a...
