Our First Van Life Christmas...

Image
Hey Y'all! I know these type of blogs aren't for everyone, but I love seeing what others received. Therefor I also like to share what we got each year. It's kind of a tradition at this point. But, if this blog isn't for you, no worries, just skip it and I'll "see ya" for the next one! Last Christmas- https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2023/12/what-we-got-for-christmas.html 2022- https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2022/12/what-we-got-for-christmas.html 2021- https://craftinwifescreations.blogspot.com/2021/12/what-we-got-for-christmas.html We spent most of the day indoors, at Mom's in Northeastern Tennessee. We were lucky and the weather was mild. Because of this we were able to easily get the new mattress in place, and the old one out as well as do a few other little projects. I'll start with my husband Chris:  I got him a  Dremel  Tool, and additional accessories but he already had it put away before I took pictures. I also got him...

2025- New Year Travel Plans

Image
Hey Y'all! So.... Travel plans? We're not sure. We're thinking Mississippi, and the South, in February- depending on the routes to get there, weather wise. May be looking into more workkamp type stays too. April/May probably TN, VA, PA... We really haven't thought it all out yet. We'll let you know when we do! Thanks, The Outlands

SC Campground Reviews...

Image
Hey Y'all! We've stayed in more campgrounds in SC than anywhere else (outside of our home state of TN).. So let's review them: Campground Reviews- Pine Ridge , in Roebuck Woodsmoke , in Irmo Outside Inn , near Orangeburg/Santee I did review all of them on Google, so I'll share that first:  Pine Ridge Woodsmoke Outside Inn All 3 offered full hook up, all had a bath house, laundry facility, and offered a weekly rate. Our favorite was by far Outside Inn. It really had so much to offer and was such a unique experience!  They were all quiet, clean, and friendly. All were about the same price per night/week. Pine Ridge: Offered a game room open 24/7 with pool table, air hockey, and checkers. Outside they had giant connect 4, horse shoes, a bounce pad, a playground, dog park, walking trail, various other outdoor games, a catch and release pond, and (seasonally) a pool. (The only one of the three with a pool!) There's also an office open daily, it has all the essentials an...

Get To Know Us, Q & A

Image
Hey Y'all! Similar to our previous Q & A/ Ask Us Anything Blog , we got 2 questions! We'll answer those, and then do some we found elsewhere online. Both questions came from Marcas & Christina, on Facebook. 1) Where to next?  We aren't 100% sure. We'll be in NE Tennessee for Christmas, then Amanda has a doctors appointment again at the end of January... so probably SW VA, or somewhere of equal distance until then. Then depends on weather for February, either west or south, or southwest... maybe Alabama again (further south than last trip), or Mississippi. 2) Favorite place so far? In South Carolina, it's tough- we both really loved staying on the farm at Outside Inn , the farm animals were too cute! It was quiet, but still convenient to so many other places too.  The farm tour was a blast. Amanda's favorite is Patty the Angus cow with a heck of a personality. Chris loved the little loud mouth goat. And everyone loves Fred, the Highland! They also had a ...

How Are We Enjoying SC??!

Image
Hey Y'all! So, How Are We Enjoying South Carolina? Immensely! We didn't even hit the coast on this trip, there's been so much to see and do in the Upcountry and Midlands. Here's a list of the things we loved so far: Hatcher Gardens Walnut Grove Plantation Small Town USA So much NATURE! Wildlife Lakes Plants Santee State Park Edisto Memorial Gardens Glendale Preserve And there's so much more. One thing we don't love?   How bouncy all the roads are everywhere. Big city, bouncy. Small town, bouncy. Interstate, highway, back roads? All bouncy. Like there isn't a steam roller in the state. They're all bouncy. There's also a lot of construction happening so if your headed this way via I 26 in the near future allow some extra time. Be sure to check out our TikTok for small snippets of our travels. Thanks, The Outlands

Our Thanksgiving

Image
Hey Y'all! So what was our Thanksgiving like? Beautiful! It was sunny, and near 75 degrees. We had purchased everything beforehand, so we didn't have to go out in the crowds. Our Dinner Menu: Turkey (We bough out of the deli sliced thick , it cost more- but made more sense for us.) Mashed Potatoes Stuffing Gravy Corn Green Beans Cranberry Sauce (Strictly for Chris, cause yuck. He only liked the jelly kind.) Wine (Stella Rosa Watermelon, we hadn't tried it yet. Probably more a Summer wine, but it was good.) Pumpkin Pie Whipped Cream We took 0 food prep pictures, but did film the entire thing: After we ate we fed the farm animals some baby carrots, took a walk, and just relaxed outside. It was a great day. Thanks, The Outlands
