Bonus Blog: Where To Next?

🧭 Where to Next? We Don’t Know (and That’s the Best Part)

Hey again, from somewhere slightly east of the middle of nowhere. It’s Chris & Amanda from Outland Adventures, and if you ask us where we’re headed next, we’ll smile and shrug and say:

“Not sure yet.”

And here’s the thing — we mean that in the best possible way.

When we first hit the road in Brunilda, our previous van, we thought we’d have a color-coded map and a six-month plan. Instead, we’ve learned that the best parts of this lifestyle come when you leave space for the unknown.

📅 Plans? We Have Loose Ideas.

Right now, we’ve wrapped up a workamping gig in Northwest Indiana. The campground’s been good to us — solid people, weird weather, and more than a few stories. But as it all winds down, the inevitable question pops up:

“So… where are you headed next?”

Honestly? We don’t know.

We’ve got a short list of maybes. A few friends in a couple states. A festival we might hit if we feel like it. But no reservations. No guarantees. Just an open road and a full tank.

And that freedom? That’s the point.

🌅 Why We Love the Unknown

  • We follow the weather. Not too hot, not too cold — Goldilocks-style.

  • We follow the weird. If there's a giant roadside chicken, we’re stopping.

  • We follow our gut. Some places feel right. Some don’t. We trust the vibe.

  • We follow each other. When one of us says “Let’s go that way,” we usually do.

RV life gives you this rare gift: you don’t always have to know what’s next. You just have to keep moving toward what feels right.

🛻 Wildebeest’s GPS Is Mostly Vibes

Sure, we use real maps. Amanda's a pro at finding campgrounds with good reviews and cute souvenir magnets. But sometimes?

We pick a direction and go.

Some of our favorite stops came from accidental detours. A wrong turn that led to a small-town bakery. A backroad that opened into a lakefront boondock spot. A “we’ll just stay one night” place that turned into a week of good company and stargazing.

🧠 Letting Go of the Itinerary

Here’s the truth: It’s okay not to know.

It’s okay to leave space on the calendar.
It’s okay to stay somewhere longer than planned.
It’s okay to change your mind mid-drive and take the scenic route.

That’s not being disorganized — that’s being free.

🌻 So Where Are We Headed Next?

Somewhere south?
Somewhere quieter?
Somewhere with decent Wi-Fi and trees tall enough to hang laundry?

We’ll know when we get there. And when we do, we’ll share the view.

Until then, we’re enjoying the ride, cleaning the windshield bugs off every few days, and making room for the next adventure — even if we don’t know what it is yet.

📍Currently located: Somewhere between “what if we turn left?” and “let’s just see where this road goes.”
