Reminisce- Worst Trips!
Hey Y'all!
We've had some... interesting moments on road trips, and I'll share a few of those, but nothing that we'd say made the whole trip bad.
1) Driving home from Disney pre hurricane. It was days before Irma was predicted to hit, the weather was beautiful- the traffic, not so much. I swear we stopped on I 95 every time a blade of grass moved. There were no gas stations open, all the rest areas were insane. We got off the interstate for a little while in SC and took some backroads for a few hours, which was a lot of fun. We saw small towns, and landmarks we wouldn't have seen otherwise. It probably took just as long, if not longer, and it was 13hrs of driving when we stopped, because we were just done for the day and were only about half way home.
2) & 3) Both stories I've mentioned before:
The fog was so thick in WV we followed a semi all the way up and down the mountains, stopping for gas when he did. I assume he knew we were following him, though I doubt his visibility was any better.
Car wreck(s) both in chevy cavaliers, one hydroplaning, the other being rear-ended while moving to TN.
4) The van tire blowout from or first major trip, mostly a bad moment for the time & money. So much time, and so much money.
5) Our trip to Chattanooga, when we arrived at the hotel and the water was out on that entire side of the city. Everything was closed... except Waffle House, where we had dinner and then went back to the hotel and watched TV. The water was back on the next morning, thankfully.
I'm sure there are more, but that's the top 5, at least that came to our minds today.
What are some of your worst (or best) trip moments? Share in the comments below.
Thanks,
The Outlands
