The Best & Worst Of Van Life 3mo In...

 Hey Y'all!

I can't believe we've been doing this full time for 3mo already!

There are so many awesome things we've discovered, and some things that are MEH as well. In this blog we'll share both the highs, and the lows. The fun, and the not so fun.

What we love... and what we don't three months in:

I guess so we end on a positive note here, I'll start with a few things we don't love. AKA the worst parts about #vanlife

1) Everything is always being moved, reorganized, put away, and taken back out. Seriously, it's constant.

2) Bad weather means everything is covered in water, dust, dirt, mud (whatever) real quick. We sweep and vacuum at least once each daily.

3) Doing anything is harder than it is in a "normal" living situation. Wanna snack? Does it need cooked?? You need to get out all the things you'll need to heat it up, and then, do the thing and clean it up and put it away to have space to do the thing you were doing before you decided you wanted a snack.

Most of the sucky parts are a given, space is extremely limited and it's always going to be. The positives though...

The Best:

1) Seeing so many new things all the time.

2) Taking our time, and really enjoying the journey.

3) Spending more time together, like real quality time.

4) Having zero debt.

5) If we don't vibe with a place, we can just boot, scoot, and boogie on out. On the flip if we're loving a spot we can easily extend our stay. Other than my doctors appointments we are on no ones schedule but ours.

6) We work where, and when, we want. Like now, it's 8pm and I'm writing this sitting by the fire and listening to the birds quiet down, and the bugs get louder. It's a fairly clear sky with just the stars and a crescent moon lighting the sky.

7) Just the overall (feeling of) freedom!

8) Community of like minded individuals, and how easy it is to find them. There are vanlifers who do this from all walks of life (and all income brackets) but we share something special in that we all chose to live this life. That's pretty cool.

I'm sure I could go on and on with all the things we love, and a few more we don't... like the whole boondocking toilet isn't the greatest.. but I think I can speak for most when I say the positives far outweigh the negatives.
