Places We've Been/Things We've Done- March & April
Hey Y'all,
So, what have we been doing? Some of it we've shared here in the blog (Like our first Loves RV stay) some we've shared on our social media accounts:
We started out March in NE Ohio, Chris' best friend (more like family really, and that's how we generally refer to them) had just had surgery on his ankle. We visited with them, attended a basketball game, a dance competition, several parks, played bingo, went to Quality Inn with an entire indoor play area with pools, hot tub, mini golf, arcade, and various play areas. I'm sure there was more, but those were the highlights!
After we left them we spent a few days in Findley State Park, before heading further west, we spent a night in Delphos, OH... Pretty area, but the weather didn't really cooperate enough to enjoy outdoor recreation. That brings us to April...
From there we traveled onward, crossed the state line, and spent a week in Decatur, Indiana.
While there we enjoyed exploring the downtown area, a nature preserve, a flea market, and a very interesting restaurant. Chris also worked on his book, and I caught up on social media stuff.
From there we continued westward, where we enjoyed the scenic drive and stayed at the Loves. While there plans changed for our workamp position, so we decided to travel into Illinois (for the first time)!
There will be more on that later, but while there we stayed at Kankakee KOA, Visited several parks, a forest preserve, did most of the cities river walk, and Chris went ice skating, for the first time ever!
On the way back to IN from IL we drove through Kankakee National Wildlife Refuge, and Kankakee Sands Bison Viewing Area (we were on a deadline, so we'll have to return to the Bison area and get some pictures).
We arrived at our seasonal location on Monday the 14th, met with the owners, took the tour, and got settled in. Chris started working (doing grounds maintenance and other similar jobs) on Tuesday. I started training in the office Wednesday. So far it's been nice. The campground is peaceful, quiet, and everyone we've met has been very friendly. There were a lot of seasonal campers here Easter weekend getting their sites ready, and enjoying the great weather!
To bring us up to date we had a day off yesterday and spent it exploring more of the area, and doing errands. Chris got a haircut, and we did some much needed grocery shopping. We spent the afternoon relaxing outside, I read and Chris played on his phone.
What's next? Returning to the Sands, and adventuring more around Lake Village are the surrounding area(s).
Thanks,
The Outlands
