Day In The Life: Mostly Laundry
Hey Y'all,
In this blog we're sharing a somewhat typical day off for us. It consists of relaxing, getting chores done, and really mostly laundry.
Join us:
Some days out here are full of adventure. Others? They’re the slow, satisfying kind that remind us why we chose this life in the first place.
Today was one of those days.
The Morning Routine
Like most days, we started by checking in on social media—sipping coffee, reading comments, and seeing what the rest of the world is up to before diving into our own. Then it was time for breakfast and vitamins (because yes, we’re that couple now).
Tackling the Day’s Big Task: Laundry
As we mentioned in the video, laundry is pretty much an all-day affair out here. Between walking back and forth to the line and waiting between cycles, it’s a slow burn kind of chore.
But we don’t mind—it gives us plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors.
Editing, Relaxing, and a Lunch Break
We spent most of the day outside, working on content, editing videos, and just enjoying the breeze. Editing can be tedious, but being surrounded by nature makes it feel a little less like “work.”
Lunchtime was simple but delicious:
Amanda's Simple Chicken Salad
Note: All measurements are guesstimated. I don’t measure—I vibe.
-
Shredded Chicken (~½ lb)
-
Chopped Celery (1–2 stalks)
-
Chopped Dill Pickles (~¼ cup)
-
Yellow Mustard (1 tsp)
-
Duke’s Mayo (2 tbsp)
-
Fresh Cracked Pepper (to taste)
No fruit. No nuts. And definitely not too wet. Just the way we like it.
More of the Same
After lunch, it was more of what we love: relaxing, reading, editing, and—yep—checking on that laundry.
Dinner came next, followed by a round of inside chores. Chris vacuumed the bed (yes, really—we’re still finding sand from three days ago).
Wrapping Up the Day
With chores done and dishes washed, we stepped outside to watch the sunset. There’s something magical about ending a quiet, productive day with a sky full of color.
Thanks for spending the day with us 💛
