Our Recent Brand Collaborations!

 Hey Y'all!

Brand collaborations really make us feel like we're doing something right... like we've "made" it on social media.

That said we vow to only take sponsors/collabs that:

 1) Make sense for us (and you).

For example we recently got an offer for a milk frother, but we don't drink our coffee that way, so it didn't make sense for us. We also have limited room, so we can't say yes to just anything.

2) Are a product we have used/will use regularly.

All the items we'll mention today we are currently using. We like all of them!

3) We can be honest about.

Integrity above all else. We will let you know if something doesn't work, isn't as great as other products in the category, or isn't as expected in general.

In no particular order:

1) Viking Bags-

https://www.vikingbags.com/collections/motorcycle-backpacks

We're working on getting a promo code for y'all! We were sent the bag to test out, in exchange for mentioning it in a blog or social media post. If you're interest and don't want to wait to see if we can obtain a promo code, they are currently having a sale.

If you take a look at their website, it's pretty clear they've been geared toward motorcycle riders and in reaching out to us we assume they're trying to branch out to the outdoors markets.

We received:

The Trident large motorcycle sissy bar backpack is constructed out of cordura. The backpack has a total storage capacity of 1952.76 cubic inches with adjustable sternum clip and waist straps. Useful means of storage for both short and long commutes, it is ergonomically designed with hook and loop ties to make it more comfortable when carrying. When off the bike, you can carry this Trident sissy bar backpack by slipping on the padded shoulder straps. If you need to secure the backpack to the motorcycle, you can simply put away the straps in the back. Features a top zippered pocket with its interior lined with fleece, perfect for storing more fragile items such as sunglasses. On either side of the bag, there are zippered pockets perfect for transporting smaller belongings and mesh pockets where you can insert water bottles up to 17 Oz. The Trident sissy bar backpack for motorcycles includes a separate zippered compartment for shoes separate from your clothes and other essentials. And the three additional pockets in the front is best for organizing smaller items like snacks, phone, keys, wallet and electronics chords.

We plan to use the bag on longer hikes for our snacks, water, gear, and camera equipment. It has several pockets of various size. We're thinking the front three are great for a flashlight, lenses, and multi tool or small knife.

2) Dubby Energy-

https://www.dubby.gg/discount/OUTLAND%20ADVENTURES?ref=tstxltyo 10% off!

(Pictured above.)

Chris likes energy drinks, but typically Amanda doesn't. These don't have that energy drink taste, don't

make you feel jittery, and aren't carbonated. So far we like the flavors we've tried. The shaker bottles are

of good quality, and the lid fits very tight, so no spillage!

There's a video of us testing it out for the first time coming soon.

3) Mini Telescope (TikTok Shop)-

Not technically a collab or sponsorship, but we thought this fit well here.

We've used it with the phone a few times, and it does a much better job than the camera zoom. As a standalone it's focus is easy to use, and is similar to a pair of binoculars. We've showed it in action on our TikTok page.

4) Dehancer Color Grading Plugin-

dehancer.com Promo Code: (Outland Adventures) for 10% off

See below for more information about what dehancer is/does.

We've used it a few times now, and are just figuring out all the options, and how they work. We like the ability to adjust the color for any style video/picture. After the slight hiccup with how to install, which has since been fixed, using the plug in is very easy. We'll post more about this on our YouTube channel soon.

5) Book!

Technically not a collab, but this seemed like the place to talk about the book, which was sent to me by the author.

Amanda has just finished reading the book:

"This is not only a travelogue but a thought-provoking celebration of nature and the natural world."

After overcoming severe health and financial setbacks, the author and his wife, Jo, set out to travel the country in their motor home. In search of peace and serenity, they are overcome by the awe-inspiring beauty of our nation’s state and national parks. Ride along with them as they recap their adventures:

  • Swimming with the loons on a northern Minnesota lake
  • Searching for “Injun Joe” in the Mark Twain caves in Missouri
  • Celebrating their anniversary beneath the stars on the sage-covered hills of the high desert

Told with a bit of humor and a bit of nostalgia, their story will surely inspire those seeking to explore the great American outdoors, either with their RV’s or from their armchairs.
Did they find that “something” they were searching for? Read along and join in the fun as they try to tap into the Rhythms of Nature.

Accentuated with beautiful photography and some of the author’s favorite recipes, “RV Travels with my Girls” will make for an outstanding addition to anyone’s travel or camping library.

Thoughts?

I don't love the title, and I wish the photos were in color.

I did like the personal journey we took across the country, and back, with the author. As a fellow cancer survivor I could relate to a lot of the feelings surrounding the diagnosis and treatment(s), leading to the NEED to travel. Overall, I'd recommend the book as it was a good read.

The corresponding video should be up by Saturday 7/19. Thanks for your patience while we're dealing with spotty internet this Summer.

Thanks,

The Outlands

One last thing, we've been loving Instacart here lately. It's much easier- saves us gas & time since Wildebeest is a big thirsty gal and the nearest stores are 20+ miles out. If you don't already have an account save yourself $10 on your first order:
