Hey y’all! We’re Amanda & Chris — the full-time RV couple behind Outland Adventures. We’ve been sharing our journey from campground to campground, but today we thought we’d switch things up and answer some of your most asked (and quirky!) questions. Let’s go!



❓ Who are you and what is Outland Adventures?

👋 We’re Amanda (the crafty, beauty-loving, book-reading half of the duo) and Chris (the gamer, writer, cook, and editor). Together, we live and travel full-time in our 1990 Ford E350 shuttle bus conversion named Wildebeest.

Outland Adventures is where we share our travels, our weird little roadside finds, the joy of small towns, and what it’s really like to work camp while living tiny.

🚐 Why the name “Wildebeest”?

She’s big, she’s bold, and she used to be a mobile EMS command unit — tough as they come. The name just felt right for our hard-working, always-ready RV.

🛠️ What’s inside the rig?

No black or grey tank (we keep things simple). No wood stove — but we do have one (or two) propane stoves that keep us well-fed.

Chris is our main driver and usually the cook. Amanda manages the blog and social media and keeps our space cozy and creative.

🧳 What do your jobs on the road look like?

We’re proud workampers!

  • Chris handles landscaping, general maintenance, and the “heavy lifting” at the campgrounds we stay at.

  • Amanda works in the office and camp store — taking reservations, greeting guests, and sprinkling a little sparkle into daily operations.

💻 What do you create?

  • Chris runs ShadowWolf Studios, where he writes horror novels, and codes indie video games.

  • Amanda runs Craftin’ Wife’s Creations, offering DIY tutorials, beauty tips, and creative inspo.

Together, we share:

  • Travel stories

  • Campground life

  • Quirky roadside attractions

  • Small-town adventures

  • Real talk about RV living

🧼 How do you manage cleaning and chores in a tiny space?

With a good attitude and a flexible schedule!
We:

  • Hand-wash laundry and hang it outside when there are no facilities

  • Use space-saving storage hacks

  • Tidy up daily (a small space gets messy fast!)

  • Split tasks based on who’s best at what (Chris = dishes, Amanda = organizing)

🧺 Favorite campground chore?

Amanda: Stocking the camp store & chatting with guests
Chris: Mowing, trimming, and seeing the results of his hard work

🌦️ Worst campground moment?

Chris: That one surprise storm where everything inside AND outside got soaked
Amanda: The camp where the bathroom situation could only be described as… tragic

🧼 Best campground amenity?

Hands down — a clean, hot, roomy shower. Everything else is a bonus!

🧡 What do you love most about life on the road?

Amanda: Meeting new people, seeing new places, and getting inspired by the scenery
Chris: Freedom to create, flexibility, and the quiet peace of a sunset after a long day

🧭 Where to next?

We don’t know — and that’s exactly how we like it.
Every new place is a fresh chapter in our story.

RV life isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it. Whether we’re digging into camp work, discovering hidden gems, or just enjoying a lazy day outside Wildebeest, we’re doing it together — and that’s the heart of Outland Adventures.

Places We've Been/Things We've Done- March & April

 Hey Y'all, So, what have we been doing? Some of it we've shared here in the blog (Like our first Loves RV stay) some we've shared on our social media accounts: linktr.ee/outlandadventures We started out March in NE Ohio, Chris' best friend (more like family really, and that's how we generally refer to them) had just had surgery on his ankle. We visited with them, attended a basketball game, a dance competition, several parks, played bingo, went to Quality Inn with an entire indoor play area with pools, hot tub, mini golf, arcade, and various play areas. I'm sure there was more, but those were the highlights! After we left them we spent a few days in Findley State Park, before heading further west, we spent a night in Delphos, OH... Pretty area, but the weather didn't really cooperate enough to enjoy outdoor recreation. That brings us to April...
