Spring Campsite Essentials

Spring Campsite Essentials ⛺🌿

Tuesday, April 9

Spring camping is a little chaotic—and that’s exactly why we love it.

One minute you’re soaking up sunshine in a t-shirt, and the next you’re digging out hoodies, blankets, and wondering if that cloud rolling in is “just a sprinkle” or a full-on downpour. Spring doesn’t play by the rules, especially when you’re living the RV life. But with the right setup, it can be one of the coziest, most rewarding seasons to camp.

Here’s what we always keep on hand to make those unpredictable spring nights feel less like survival mode and more like a vibe.

🌙 Cozy Comes First

When the sun drops, so does the temperature—fast. Even after a warm day, nights can get downright cold.

We swear by:

  • Extra blankets (the fluffier, the better)

  • Warm hoodies and thick socks

  • A heated blanket or electric throw (if you’ve got power)

  • Hot water bottles for a low-tech, no-power option

There’s nothing better than bundling up, listening to the quiet hum of the campground, and staying warm while the chill creeps in outside.

🔥 Easy Comfort Food & Warm Drinks

Spring nights call for simple, warm comfort.

Our go-to setup includes:

  • Instant soups or ramen

  • Coffee, tea, or hot cocoa (non-negotiable)

  • Easy skillet meals on the propane stove

  • Snacks you don’t have to think about (hello, late-night munchies)

Bonus tip: keep a “night bin” stocked so you’re not digging through cabinets in the dark when hunger hits.

🌧️ Rain-Ready Everything

If you camp in spring, you will deal with rain.

Be ready with:

  • Waterproof shoes or boots

  • A solid rain jacket (not the “cute but useless” kind)

  • Extra towels (trust us on this one)

  • A small outdoor mat to keep mud from taking over your space

Also—embrace it a little. Rain on the roof of an RV? Elite-level relaxation.

💡 Lighting & Atmosphere

Spring days get longer, but those evenings can still sneak up on you.

We like to bring:

  • String lights for a cozy glow

  • Lanterns or battery-powered lights

  • Headlamps or flashlights for late-night wanderings

It turns your campsite from “just parked” to “this is home.”

🧭 Flexible Plans (Because Spring Has Other Ideas)

You can plan all you want, but spring weather will do its own thing.

So instead of overpacking your schedule:

  • Have backup indoor activities (games, books, downloaded shows)

  • Keep your setup simple so you can adjust quickly

  • Don’t stress if plans change—sometimes the best nights are the unplanned ones

Spring camping might be unpredictable, but that’s part of the magic. It’s slower, quieter, and just a little bit wild—like the season itself.

As long as you stay warm, stay dry, and keep the snacks within arm’s reach, you’re doing it right.

What are your must-haves for spring camping? 🌿
