Travel Questions Part 4 (Final)

We figured it'd be fun to sit down for a few minutes and answer some travel questions as a kind of get to know us blog. Feel free to add your questions in the comments below and we'll add them to the list for a future blog!

  • Do you follow travel blogs? A-Not really. C- No.
  • Do you follow Travel YouTube channels? A- Van Life ones, yeah- travel in general no. C- And Disney travel, but other than that yeah, no.
  • Do you usually search for videos or posts about the countries or places you are trying to visit? A- Places, some- not much yet. C- We watch one van life couple, they're currently in Brazil. Cool to watch, and they go some really awesome places, but it's not the (type of) travel we plan to do.
  • Have Travel blogs or channels make you want to travel more? For sure! We're so ready!
  • What are some of the safest places to travel to? A- Pretty much any place can be sketchy, just know your surroundings, and if it feels "off" leave. C- Major cities are a place we'll rarely stay.
  • Have you ever been robbed when traveling? Thankfully, no.
  • Do you only travel to the safest countries? Currently the plans are all US based, so...
  • Do you share your travel information with someone you trust? Our Moms and siblings, that's it. A- You want someone to know where you're at- but not necessarily broadcast it to everyone. C- Yeah, we may share we had a great day in X city, but not where we stayed- until we're gone. 
  • Do you worry about how much you drink when traveling? A- Like getting enough water? No, we always pack plenty, and make stops every couple hours. It ain't a race.
  • Do you try not to draw attention when traveling? C- Yes, and no. Sometimes it's pretty obvious that people are living in the vehicle, or traveling. It's another part of the reason we chose a pretty non descript van. A- I'm aware of my surroundings, but really I'm not paying attention to others.
  • Do you wear jewelry when you travel? A- Sometimes yeah, sometimes no.
  • Are you aware of scams when you travel? A- Yeah. Also I'm not a people person... or nice. C- You're nice. A- Not to strangers. I'll just keep on moving, IDC about your "cause"/sob story/leaflet. Don't need to talk to you about anything. Bye! 
  • Do you Keep digital copies of important documents? You have to, no use wasting space on all that paper.

We got one question from the Ask US Anything:
Why van life, and why now? (I suppose that's really 2 questions.)

Van life, has always appealed to us. It's a fairly easy way to travel, you can take most comforts with you, and you still fit most places you'd like to go. It's relatively cheap too!

Why now? The universe, God, our Dads (both deceased)... or something, was telling us now was the time. Long story short, Chris was let go from his job for refusing a promotion, and I have beat cancer twice! We want to travel while we're still able to go any and everywhere we want.

Places We've Been/Things We've Done- March & April

 Hey Y'all, So, what have we been doing? Some of it we've shared here in the blog (Like our first Loves RV stay) some we've shared on our social media accounts: linktr.ee/outlandadventures We started out March in NE Ohio, Chris' best friend (more like family really, and that's how we generally refer to them) had just had surgery on his ankle. We visited with them, attended a basketball game, a dance competition, several parks, played bingo, went to Quality Inn with an entire indoor play area with pools, hot tub, mini golf, arcade, and various play areas. I'm sure there was more, but those were the highlights! After we left them we spent a few days in Findley State Park, before heading further west, we spent a night in Delphos, OH... Our Favorite Places Thus Far (Updated) TOP 5

 Hey Y'all! This is a bit of a filler blog, because while we've been places we've liked nothing so far has beat these five. Honorable mention to the latest museums, we really enjoyed them all. Both Jonesborough, and Greeneville TN are awesome (Lost State of Franklin) and we highly recommend them too.   We've been fortunate to have seen quite a few sights these past few months, here's our top 5!  There were so many cool things, and places coming up with just five favorites was harder than expected. Working from 5, and in order we'll start with... 5)  Athens Veterans Museum - Welcome to the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives. Located in Athens Alabama, we are proud to be a part of our military history with a large exhibit center, guided tours provided by local veterans, gift shop, meeting facilities, monthly coffee call and much more . Our Favorite Things/Places/Experiences This Past Month

 Hey Y'all! We were fortunate to do/see a lot of different places this past month. We traveled from NE Ohio, through OH and KY, where we spent a day in Corbin, and then onto NE Tennessee, we took a few days in Bristol, VA, and spent a week in the great outdoors at the quiet, serene Mammoth Ridge near Greeneville. In-between trips in TN we stayed at my mom's and did the whole doctors appointments and scans thing, again. PLACE- While in Ohio we really had a blast, and there's so much to share there it'll be a couple of videos, very soon. Our favorites were the haunted attractions, and getting to cross another National Park off our list with Cuyahoga Valley National Park . Brandywine Falls History runs deep in the valley, with over 12,000 years of human occupation. From the unwritten stories of pre-contact peoples to the environmental disasters and comebacks of modern times, humans have left an impact on the valley.
