DITL: Rainy Day in the Camp Store

Image
Hey Y'all, In the last blog you saw what we do on our day off, in this one I'll take you to the Camp Store/Office with me. It's not a great representation, as it was a rainy day and we only had one check in, but those days happen too! Enjoy: It was a pretty boring day, but I made it through. Thanks, The Outlands

Day In The Life: Mostly Laundry

Image
Hey Y'all, In this blog we're sharing a somewhat typical day off for us. It consists of relaxing, getting chores done, and really mostly laundry. Join us: Some days out here are full of adventure. Others? They’re the slow, satisfying kind that remind us why we chose this life in the first place. Today was one of those days. The Morning Routine Like most days, we started by checking in on social media—sipping coffee, reading comments, and seeing what the rest of the world is up to before diving into our own. Then it was time for breakfast and vitamins (because yes, we’re that couple now). Tackling the Day’s Big Task: Laundry As we mentioned in the video, laundry is pretty much an all-day affair out here. Between walking back and forth to the line and waiting between cycles, it’s a slow burn kind of chore. But we don’t mind—it gives us plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors. Editing, Relaxing, and a Lunch Break We spent most of the day outside, working on content, editing videos...

Our Recent Brand Collaborations!

Image
Hey Y'all! Brand collaborations really make us feel like we're doing something right... like we've "made" it on social media .   That said we vow to only take sponsors/collabs that:  1) Make sense for us (and you). For example we recently got an offer for a milk frother, but we don't drink our coffee that way, so it didn't make sense for us. We also have limited room, so we can't say yes to just anything. 2) Are a product we have used/will use regularly. All the items we'll mention today we are currently using. We like all of them! 3) We can be honest about. Integrity above all else. We will let you know if something doesn't work, isn't as great as other products in the category, or isn't as expected in general. In no particular order: 1) Viking Bags- https://www.vikingbags.com/ collections/motorcycle- backpacks   We're working on getting a promo code for y'all! We were sent the bag to test out, in exchange for mentioning it in...

3 Months In: Workamping Thoughts

Image
Hey Y'all, We are just about exactly three months, or half way, in to our first workamp position. What are our thoughts? What are the positives and negatives to this specific position? We'll let you know! We decided not to do a video this time, but we have plenty of content all across social media: linktr.ee/outlandadventures We share lots of shorter clips about our day, scenery, etc. on TikTok. Most of our longer videos can be found on YouTube. A little bit of everything goes on our Facebook page.  Sometimes there is overlapping content. Occasionally one platform (usually TikTok) will get the content first, if we're cross posting. I think there is enough different content across all our platforms to follow us everywhere, but you can judge for yourself, and pick the platform(s) that you prefer. Back to our thoughts on this workamping position! Stunning sunset. Let's get started!  You know we like to end on positivity, so we'll start with the negative. Workin' N...

Outland Adventures Social Media Growth & Analytics

Image
Hey Y'all! When we started out this year we had a few social media goals, which I'll share below. First though it's amazing to us how the growth happened on each platform. The blogs maintain the same, nothing huge but they do okay. Facebook was a slow steady climb each week, and we now sit at just under 1100! We've met a lot of really cool people on FB. TikTok hovered at about 40 followers for months! Then all of a sudden we got up to 100, then 500, and now it's at about the same level as our Facebook! All that growth happened in about a month or so! There are so many amazing travel/RV creators out there. Twitter or X, we don't really mess with other than to post that the blog is up. We don't really follow anyone there, and no one really follows us. I did take a break from posting the blog links and views went down, even though no one interacts on twitter. So, I returned to posting.  Instagram, I feel like we gave it a good shot, but we didn't grow at a...

Our New Home Tour- Wildebeest, 1990 E350 Shuttle Bus Conversion

Image
Hey Y'all, This blog, and corresponding video, have been quite the work in progress. As I've mentioned before the internet here is very very slow most of the time, so uploading takes a full day. We've also been a bit more busy this past week, the campground owners took a short vacation, so we had more responsibilities and less down time. Then it's been 4th of July prep.  Everything is going extremely well. We've finally finished the video: Uploading is taking forever! I will add the link once it's done, but didn't want to delay the blog any further. In the process of getting things ready to go we: Removed the rear table (reused most of the wood for stability) Relocated and repurposed the center table, creating a kitchen space, TV (laptop) stand, and a desk area Cleaned the walls and floors (a few times) Took down, cleaned, and put back the curtains Added curtains to the main door Reused 99% of the things we already had, and moved them from the old van, Brun...
